Teaching Activities
The Zuccaro lab is actively engaged in academic teaching and student training across multiple levels at the university of Cologne. We contribute to a range of lectures, seminars, and hands-on learning formats that reflect our expertise in plant and microbial sciences. Our goal is to foster scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We currently offer:
-
CEPLAS Fast Track Teaching
-
Lecture & Seminar: Signals in Plant-Microbe Interaction
-
Lecture & Seminar: Molecular Plant and Microbial Sciences
-
IPMM (CMC) Lecture – part of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Molecular Medicine

In addition, we offer training opportunities in bioinformatics as well as Bachelor and Master rotation internships, providing students with practical experience alongside their academic development.
Through these activities, we assist to provide students with both a strong theoretical foundation and practical research experience, preparing them for careers in molecular biology and beyond.
“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think critically and independently.”

Outreach Activities
We believe that science should be accessible and engaging beyond the lab. Through our outreach activities, we share our research with the broader public, inspire curiosity in the next generation of scientists, and foster dialogue between science and society. From school visits to public talks and science festivals, we are committed to making our work visible, understandable, and impactful.
